Summary of Narrative techniques

Before the analysis of the chapters of the novel "Fatelessness" we will review some narrative techniques.
Use of quotation:

1. Read through the quotation.
2. Identify the speaker, listener, and context of the quotation.
3. Examine the quotation carefully
4. Pull all of your ideas into one strong, cohesive response.
5. 1. 1. Don’t forget the “HOW/WHY” rule: explain how and why the quotation is important.

The functions of a setting:

1. To create a mood or atmosphere.

2. To show the reader a diferent way of life.

3. To make an action seem more real.

4. To be the source of conflict or struggle.

5. To symbolize an idea.
